Chinese new year’s Eve and I had half day off from work – this automatically called for a girly lunch and cocktails with my sister-from-another-mister Shivali! After much deliberation we decided to go to the romantic Museo at Quayside isle in Sentosa! Yes, we are a loving romantic couple, our husbands have been jealous of our relationship since 2013.

A quick cab ride across the bridge and we were sitting with our legs folded, hungrily looking at the menu!

The Dine-in-a-cup concept of Museo is awesome. You get small portions of the most wonderfully presented appetizers. Hogs that we are, we ordered 5 of these cups! Each cup ranges from $7-18 roughly, depending on what you order.

So here’s presenting all the cute cups we got.

Cup 1 – Avocado and feta salad with smoked salmon, black ebiko, cherry tomatoes and creamy herb dressing $15

The mini salad was sufficient and well balanced. The crispy greens with Ebiko and fresh salmon is a fool-proof combination and it didn’t fail to delight us.

Cup 2 – Lavender Prawns with flavored lavender mayo $14
Really yummy and flavorful. Sadly, the serving was quite tiny so we were left craving for more.

Cup 3 – Cold pasta Capellini tossed with Tobiko, truffle shavings, chives and Shio Kombu $11
This was a shocker, usually the sound of cold pasta makes me squirm but this dish burst with aromatic flavors of truffle, chives and Kombu – all combined to perfection, capable of tantalizing the most discerning taste buds. Definitely a must try!

Cup 4 – Vodka chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream $13

Another can’t-go-wrong-with-it kinda dish, the lava cake was delish. The vodka was contained in the little plastic pipette which can be squeezed up to whatever amount you desire. We squeezed all of it into our lava (obviously!) and loved the decision. I think chocolate with anything is a great idea, so vodka was no different.

Cup 5 – Frozen pistachio nougat in chocolate ball with hot butterscotch sauce and seasonal berries $17
This was the only dish that failed to impress us, apart from the gimmick of pouring hot butterscotch sauce and marveling at the sight of the ball melting into nothingness, the taste kinda fell flat. The pistachio nougat didn’t taste fresh at all. But thanks to the awesome service at this restaurant, the staff happily replaced it with the Vodka lava cake! Yay!!

We paired these awesome cups with Museo’s signature Passion fruit Sling cocktail. Oh did I mention we had 2 each? Omgggg best cocktail EVER!

It comes with a wonderfully caramelized half a passion fruit which is sooooo good I can’t even.. the shock of sugary sweetness and tingling sourness of the Passionfruit awakened all my senses.

You’ll be surprised, that after eating and drinking all this much, we still had an appetite for the main course. It’s the company tbh, we chat, gossip, laugh hysterically, pout and take funny selfies, talk about medicine, technology, husbands, basically everything under the sun and time just flies by! Add to all of this some painting now.

So Museo has a little artsy corner where you can paint and enjoy a little activity with kids or on a unique date with your partner. Even the table mats can be colored and provide for a super fun activity. We stayed at this gorgeous little place for 5 hours! Look at my masterpiece –

Since we were here for 5 hours, you can imagine that it’s very possible to go hungry again. So we decided to try some mains as well.

For mains we ordered-

Mains 1 – Pan roasted cod fillet with baked scallop on half shell with onion relish and truffle mushroom risotto $35

The cod was a decent portion and together with the risotto it was quite filling and satisfying.

Mains 2 – Truffle mushroom risotto and Hokkaido sea scallop in Parmesan cheese, asparagus and sauteed mushrooms $36

This was simply beautiful. Their Truffle mushroom risotto is a MUST TRY. Every bite is a bit of heaven in your mouth. One that would make you scream, “Joey doesn’t share!” Yes, I kept stealing bites from Shivali’s plate. The cutie that she is, she (seemingly) cooperated.

All in all a great experience, amazing food and fantastic service! Definitely going to be a frequent visitor here 😍
